Welcome to my teaching studio!

Practice policy:

I expect students to practice so they get the full benefit from lessons. Students should practice about 6 days each week, with 1 day off. I recommend less time per day for beginning players, and more as students progress. The amount you practice will depend on your individual goals!

Beginning students (5th-7th grade): 15 minutes per day

Intermediate students (8th-9th grade): 30 minutes per day

Advanced students (10th-12th grade): 45-60 minutes per day

Adult students: flexible time commitment

Attendance policy:

Students are expected to be on time for their scheduled lessons. If something comes up, please let me know at least 24 hours before our lesson so I can adjust my schedule. If I must reschedule, I will let you know as soon as possible, and never less than 24 hours before our lesson time. Parents are welcome to be present for lessons, and there’s a seating area outside my office where you can hang out.

Prices:

At my office or over zoom:

$40 – 30 minute

$60 – 60 minute

At your house:

$45 – 30 minute

$70 – 60 minute

I’m happy to offer a free trial lesson to anyone interested in joining my private studio!

For payment, I can accept cash, check, Zelle or Venmo. I’m happy to arrange payment plans as well. I want lessons to be accessible to anyone who’s interested, and am happy to discuss accommodations for students who might have difficulty paying my full rate.

Teaching statement:

My mission is to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their musical goals. Whether you’re just starting, have played for a while, or are an adult wanting new ideas, I would love to help! I tailor lessons to each individual student, and we will work on specific fundamentals, etudes and solos depending on your goals and interests. We can also work on any school band/orchestra repertoire, and audition music for regional, all-state or school auditions.
